Helping You Realize Your Parenting Goals

Are you feeling like...

  • you and your partner aren’t on the same page?
  • you can’t get your kids to cooperate or get along?
  • you’ve tried it all but nothing works?
  • screen time has become unmanageable?
  • you are yelling more than you’d like?
  • you are filled with worry about your child?

Wouldn’t it be great if you could…

  • feel confident about your parenting
  • set boundaries with ease
  • reduce or eliminate the need to yell or threaten
  • improve your relationships with your children through deeper connections and respectful communication
  • parent without power struggles
  • experience more joy and less stress

Setting and Keeping Boundaries

Getting clear on your values and expectations is so important. From here you can set boundaries that don’t need to be justified, they are just what you are comfortable with as a parent.

+

Power Struggles

We all deal with power struggles with our children. There are some simple small changes we can make in our communication that will drastically reduce, if not eliminate, their occurrence.

Respectful Communication

It is more than fine to set boundaries and expectations as a parent, this is our responsibility. The way we go about it is vital. “My way or the highway” just won’t cut it!

Self-care

Maybe the most important aspect of parenting is to attend to our own self-care. We are better parents when we are taking care of our needs, both physical and emotional.

What Is Parent Coaching?

There is a better way of learning new parenting skills that can lead to true transformation in your family without shame, guilt, or frustration. Hiring a certified parent coach to partner with you as you make small, but highly impactful changes is one of the best ways to realize your dreams and goals for your family.  A PCI Certified Parent Coach® has gone through extensive and rigorous training in a graduate level program and can share the latest research-based practices to support your child’s physical, emotional, and spiritual growth.

Who Is Parent Coaching For?

Anyone with children! This is the truth. Parenting is complex in its challenges, and every parent can benefit from the support of a PCI Certified Parent Coach®. Each parent brings their own unique issues to the table; trouble with boundary setting, power struggles, tired of yelling/nagging, teens and risky behavior, screen time overuse, etc.

What is The Process Like?

We begin a series of weekly or bi-weekly conversations either in person, by phone or Skype where I will help you clearly define your goals and dreams for your family. Each session builds on the ones before it, and during them I listen intently, ask thought-provoking questions and offer kind, non-judgmental support. Then we will create a few action steps each week that are designed to get you closer to actualizing your dream.

1. How does this parent coaching thing work anyway?

Great question! The parent coaching process begins with a free ½ hour consultation with your coach. This will be done over the phone and will give you and your potential coach an opportunity to determine if you are a “good fit.” If you both decide it makes sense to get started, you and your coach will design a coaching plan tailored to your needs. Most clients find that 8-12 weekly or bi-weekly sessions are ideal. Each session lasts approximately 1 hour and can be done by phone or Skype. (Sessions can be done in person if needed.) Each week you and your coach will review the prior week and discuss current successes and challenges. You will leave each session with a specific set of action steps to take to begin to make the transformational changes you want for your family.

2. How much does it cost?

Sessions are $85.00 each, payable by check, venmo, or paypal.

3. Who can benefit from parent coaching?

Anyone with children! This is the truth. Parenting is complex in its challenges, and every parent can benefit from the support of a PCI Certified Parent Coach®. Each parent brings their own unique issues to the table; trouble with boundary setting, power struggles, tired of yelling/nagging, teens and risky behavior, screen time overuse, etc.

4. Does it really work?

It does, especially if you commit to the process. I can’t promise you that your kids will act exactly how you’d like 100% of the time, no one can do that. (And if they do, you should run for the hills!) Through your weekly/bi-weekly sessions with your coach, you will inevitably see improvement in your relationships with your children. You can expect to gain confidence in your parenting and with that will come a sense of ease and joy that are truly transformational.
